JG* Ran the City!!!

I wish I could upload the pics, but my Blackberry got ruined in the rain. As soon as I get my new one I’ll put the media chip in and upload the pics!

The race was awesome! Well it was pouring down rain, but I was able to manage it quite well. I did the 5k in 33 mins! I am waiting for the official times to go up later this week. How awesome! I shaved 7 minutes off my previous personal best. I also ran NON-STOP! How amazing. It’s weird what you can do with adrenaline coursing through your veins. I was super motivated and it was a pain-free run. I’m paying for it now though. 🙂

I’m so so so so blessed. The run just went fabulous! I’ll get the pics up soon!

JG*’s Spiritual & Physical Transformation!

Sorry, I was gone for a minute now I’m back! I had a lot going on last week, from traveling to Chicago, to traveling to Florida, to getting back to GA! 🙂 But y’all pray for me that God shows favor to me in my endeavors.

So next week I will begin the Daniel Fast with the other members of my Church. I’ll be tweeting, and blogging about how it’s going for you guy’s inspiration and reading pleasure.

Here is the breakdown of the fast that my Church has provided us with.

The Passage:

“And He said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29 KJV

The Purpose:

  • To corporately commit to praying and believing God for:
  • Members being ethical
  • Member’s employment
  • Member’s peace of mind
  • Sacrificial Giving
  • Members being moral
  • Member’s health
  • Members spending daily time with God

The Period

The fast will last for 21 days. It will begin Monday, March 16th at 12:01 a.m. and end on Sunday, April 5th at 12:00 midnight.

The Procedures:

The type of fast we’ll be doing is the Partial Fast. This is the fast where you abstain from certain foods and/or thing. You CAN eat fruits and vegetables. The foods that we will not be eating during the fast period are as follows:

  • No meals after 7:00 pm
  • No meat
  • No sweets or sugar
  • No white potatoes
  • No breads or pasta
  • No fried foods
  • No dairy
  • No beverages other than PURE water

The Plan:

In addition to our food sacrifice, each member is asked to give up a non-food item of sacrifice. For example, you may go on a spending fast, or a facebook fast, etc.

  • I am giving up Blackberry applications. While this may seem small, it’s a major sacrifice for me. No more Facebook for Blackberry, no more TwitterBerry, and I’m taking my email groups that I’m a member of off my phone.

The Prayer:

We will use three different prayer times during our corporate fast. Two of the prayer times are set times when all fasters should be praying. 6:00 am (alone) and 12:00 pm (praying with someone if possible) will be the daily set prayer times. The third time will be determined by each individual based on what works best for their family schedule it can take place any time, day or night.

  • I will be doing my third prayer at 6:00 pm. This pray is to be for or with your family.

Quick 10 minute cadio video!

So for those of us who don’t always have time to get that hour in at the gym I’ve found something quick fast and easy! Check out this video. I did the cardio workout, and then did a shortened verion of my Ab workout and some lower body moves. All total about 17 minutes. I think it was worth it and it makes me feel good knowing I’ll be burning a few extra calories for the rest of the evening!

New Vlog for you guys!

Y’all know I was getting my cardio in the Church last week, so my actually gym participation was down a little bit. But I’m back, and I’m sharing! Like always, nevermind the hair. THIS IS HARD WORK! THIS IS A STRUGGLE! No time for cuteness! LOL Even though I did put a little lip gloss on. 🙂

Ladebelle Eats Raw!

i grew up as a roman catholic in ny and we have always celebrated lent. although i’m not a practicing catholic, i still make the annual sacrifice for 40 days.

this year i’m giving up cooked food. what does this mean right?

this means that ladebelle will not be consuming foods that have been cooked at a temperature of 98 and above.

why raw?

well, i’m already a vegetarian and during this time of sacrifice, i would also like to work on my discipline with things that are hard for me. see, i love to cook and this will be a challenge for me. i’m worth it and so is God. plus, going raw is great for your body!

so why make the announcement here?

well, i’ll be documenting my challenges, recipes, and things of that nature here so while you are on your on quests for optimal health and fitness, you’ll have even more information!

An amazing blessing!

As a member of Berean Christian Church I am also on the dance ministry Lions of Judah. Last weekend we had our Black History Month performance and i have to say that it was a BLESSING! We danced to Youthful Praise’s “The Blood” and when I tell you, the experience was AWESOME! When I think about what God has done for me, my family, my friends, this country, and this world, I can’t help but be extremely thankful for The Blood!I just hope our performance really ministered to the people, and it was such an honor to be able to use my talents to give honor to God.

Well, to bring this back to my fitness (lol) I have to say that this was pretty challenging on my body. We practiced pretty much every day last week and I have to tell you, we went full throttle each time. I told my trainer that I thought I was gettting enough of a workout from dance practice so he actually let me slide a little bit on the cardio workouts, however he did encourage me to continue to do some weights. Did you know that you burn calories throughout the day after lifting weights? When you only do cardio, the calorie burning ends when you have finished the exercise. Just some helpful knowledge.

So with 2-2 1/2 hour practices daily, I felt like I was really getting the fitness in last week! Now I’m feeling a little lazy and I’m slacking. And I hit up IHOP last night after church for my free short stack. 🙂 But I’m back on track and I’ll be in the gym TONIGHT! So perhaps there will be a video blog coming soon!
